About NABERS certification
NABERS (National Australian Built Environment Rating System) is a performance-based rating primarily used in Australia and the UK that measures a building’s actual environmental performance in operation.
It assesses key areas: energy efficiency, carbon emissions, water usage, waste management, and indoor environment quality over a 12-month period. NABERS ratings are given in stars (from 1 to 6), with 6 stars indicating a market-leading building with exceptional efficiency and minimal environmental impact.
A high NABERS rating demonstrates to occupiers that the building is not only designed sustainably but is proven to operate efficiently, likely meaning lower utility costs and a smaller carbon footprint during their tenancy.
