PropTech Connect Europe brought together our team, partners and the wider industry for two packed days of technology, ideas and conversation.
This year marked our busiest Smart Building Showcase yet, with 16 partners joining us to demonstrate what a truly connected building ecosystem can look like in practice.
Watch the highlights from the Smart Building Showcase:
The idea behind the Showcase has always been simple: smart buildings work best when technology works together.
Rather than treating access, occupancy, security, workplace experience, energy and building operations as separate systems, the Showcase brings them together into one connected journey.
For visitors, that meant being able to see first-hand how different technologies can interact through the Smart Spaces platform to create a simpler experience for the people using a building and a more connected view for the teams running it.
16 partners. One connected experience.
A huge thank you to HID, Genetec, WasteTracker, XY Sense, Vorboss, Metra Smart Locker System, Delta Controls, Simmtronic, Watergate AI, WellStat, Zinc Systems, Axis Communications, 2N, Embrava, Total IT and Lockton for joining us.
Each partner brought a different part of the smart building journey to life.
From mobile access and security to occupancy intelligence, lighting, HVAC, connectivity, waste, water and workplace technology, the Showcase demonstrated what becomes possible when specialist technologies are connected rather than operating in isolation.
That interoperability is at the heart of what we wanted people to experience.
For someone arriving at work, the technology behind their day should largely disappear into the background. Access should be seamless. Finding and booking space should be straightforward. The environment around them should respond intelligently.
Behind the scenes, building teams need the same technology to provide better information, greater control and a clearer understanding of how their spaces are actually performing.
Taking the conversation beyond the technology
PropTech Connect was also an opportunity to talk about the bigger questions surrounding technology in the built environment.
Our Founder and CEO, Dan Drogman, took to the stage alongside leaders from across property and technology for a discussion on how organisations should approach technology decisions, including when to build, when to buy and how to create strategies that can evolve over time.
Those themes continued throughout the Showcase.
- How can organisations make better use of the data their buildings already produce?
- What role should AI play in day-to-day building operations?
- How can mobile access create a more seamless journey through the workplace?
- And as buildings become more technologically sophisticated, how do we make sure the experience itself becomes simpler?
They are questions no single company can answer alone, which is exactly why bringing the wider ecosystem together matters.
More than two days of demos
Some of the best conversations at an event rarely happen during a formal demonstration.
Across both days, the Showcase became a place to compare ideas, discuss real building challenges and explore how different technologies can work together in practice.
There was also plenty happening away from the demos, with coffee keeping everyone going throughout the day before music and cocktails took over later in the afternoon.
And we were pleased to use the event to support Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
Thanks to prizes kindly donated by our partners, our charity raffle raised £870 for GOSH over the course of the Showcase.
Built through partnership
What stood out most this year was the scale of collaboration that went into making the Showcase happen.
Bringing 16 technologies into one connected experience takes much more than putting a series of products next to one another. It takes integration, testing, planning and close collaboration between teams long before anyone arrives at the event.
That is also a reflection of how we believe smart buildings should be delivered.
No single product or provider can create the entire experience. The strongest outcomes come from bringing the right specialists together and giving their technologies a common layer through which they can connect, share information and work as part of one ecosystem.
A huge thank you to all of our partners for helping us bring that vision to life, to everyone who visited us across the two days, and to the Smart Spaces team behind our biggest Showcase yet.
The conversation does not stop here.
We sat down with some of our partners during PropTech Connect to hear what they are seeing across the market, from the changing role of mobile access and operational data to AI, integration and the future of connected buildings.
